She Makes 2014

I had the great opportunity to join some awesome Maker ladies at She Makes Makerfest for Women 2014. Over an afternoon, we were treated to some amazing guest speakers, free sushi (!!!) and most of all, given free reign to explore and experiment with our own wearable tech and 3D-printed designs.

We made use of SketchUp and Autodesk’s TinkerCAD to mock up our own objects and get them ready for printing. Some of us even went a step further, sharing our creations with the world via Thingiverse.

While time was a constraint — avg. 20 minutes printer time for a small object — all of us managed to create two small keepsakes each by day’s end.

While nothing beats being there, I did my best to capture the spirit of the day with my trusty camera phone.
